DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or equivalent
MONTHS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of six years experience supporting engineering or testing of weapons system hardware in an electronic technician specialty. Two years post secondary education may be substituted for two years of applicable experience.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Experience must include operations control in a dynamic test lab conducting vibration, shock, and acoustic testing of weapons systems and subsystems for a wide variety of government and contractor agencies worldwide. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of software. Ability to obtain an Interim DOD SECRET Security Clearance in 60 days or less. A strong professional knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and techniques through formal training such as a two year electronics technician program. Strong verbal skills to ensure proper communications between the control room and instrumentation and mechanical technicians working within the remote test facilities. Strong communication skills in providing performance feedback to the test engineering staff during the test phase and through properly developed post test documentation. Well organized, administratively proficient, and a motivated self-starter. Aviation and/or missile specialized experience a plus. Individual will patch an assortment of instrumentation to include accelerometers, strain gages, and force gages between remote test sites and the control room. Will ensure that all instrumentation and signal conditioning equipment have proper calibration documentation. Providing appropriate signal conditioning and scaling into engineering units expected by control and measurement equipment. Configuring measurement equipment to address predefined measurement criteria such as bandwidth, sample frequency, and dynamic range. Configuring control system parameters such as spectral shape, frequency resolution, control strategy, test duration, and other test specific parameters. Will provide support at meetings, testing, test reviews, etc. as needed.
